Frankfort Regional Medical Center is sponsoring an “Ideas for Life” Expo to provide information about the resources, services and support systems available to help residents care for their aging family and friends. It will take place at the Frankfort Senior Activity Center at 202 Medical Heights in Frankfort on Thursday, September 24 from noon until 5 p.m.
The Ideas for Life Expo will provide information on:
- Legal issues
- Volunteer opportunities
- Social Security
- Home care
- Medical equipment
- Senior support programs
- Flu shots - $25* (Insurance, Medicare & Medicaid accepted)

1:15-2:15 "How to care for your feet for diabetics" sponsored by Wound Care Center & Hyperbaric Medicine; presented by Heather Tucker, Nurse Practitioner
2:00-2:30 "Ideas and tips on transitioning from home" sponsored by Transitioning Services; presented by Linda Hyers, Geriatric Specialist
2:45-3:15 "How to avoid scams that target seniors" sponsored by the Kentucky Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection; presented by Jennifer Redding-Currens, Mediator
3:30-4:00 "How to prepare an Advanced Directive" sponsored by Hospice of the Bluegrass; presented by Kimberly Bell, MD
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
Following Ideas for Life Expo, the hospital is sponsoring another event – “Dinner with a Doctor – Listen to Your Heart”, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Frankfort Activity Center. The event includes a catered dinner, and the topic will be presented by Dr. Marty Denny, interventional cardiologist. The presentation will feature information about heart attack symptoms, treatment options, risk factors for cardiovascular disease and strategies for better heart health.
