Frankfort, KY (July 28, 2009) - Frankfort Regional Medical Center is hosting a free educational eventabout Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA. MRSA is a type of bacteria that causes "staph" infections which are resistant to treatment with usual antibiotics. MRSA is becoming a very prevalent microorganism in the world we live in today. Come and learn the origin of MRSA, some practical information on MRSA infection and what symptoms to look for regarding a MRSA infection.

The event is free and open to the public on Thursday, July 30, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00pm in Conference Room C of the Frankfort Medical Pavilion (located on the second floor next to the hospital). Emily Mills, RN, BSN, CIC Infection Preventionist will be presenting.
