HCA Healthcare, one of the nation’s leading healthcare providers, and its affiliate, Frankfort Regional Medical Center, today announced a $10,000 donation to the Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund to support communities impacted by the devastating floods in Franklin County on April 6, 2025.

“We are deeply committed to supporting the Franklin County community during this challenging time,” said John Ballard, Ph.D., FACHE, chief executive officer of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. “Our team at Frankfort Regional Medical Center lives and works in this community, and we are honored to contribute to the recovery efforts, helping our neighbors rebuild and restore their lives after this unprecedented disaster.”

The donation will aid the Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund in providing critical resources to residents and families affected by the historic flooding, which damaged over 500 structures and displaced hundreds of individuals. The Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund, established to address immediate and long-term recovery needs, will distribute these funds to support local relief efforts, including providing essential supplies, shelter, and rebuilding assistance.

During the April 2025 floods, the Kentucky River crested at 48.3 feet, the second-highest flooding event in Frankfort’s history. It caused significant damage across the region. HCA Healthcare and Frankfort Regional Medical Center’s contribution reflects their ongoing commitment to supporting the communities they serve during times of crisis.

“We are deeply grateful to HCA Healthcare and Frankfort Regional Medical Center for their generous donation to the Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund,” said Michael Mueller, Franklin County Judge/Executive. “Having the support of Frankfort Regional Medical Center is a testament to their commitment to community care. This contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.”

“This generous gift from Frankfort Regional Medical Center and HCA Healthcare will directly support families as they recover and rebuild from one of the worst floods in our city’s history,” said Layne Wilkerson, Frankfort Mayor. “It means a great deal, and we're grateful for their continued commitment to the Frankfort community.”

“We are pleased to have Frankfort Regional Medical Center join in our efforts to bring relief to folks here in Franklin County who were impacted by April’s flood,” said Harry Carver, Chair, Franklin County Community Fund.
