Frankfort Regional Medical Center proudly announces the renewal of its Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification, indicated by The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark.
“This achievement is a direct result of the efforts and commitment by our entire healthcare team and recognizes Frankfort Regional as a leader in stroke care,” said Dr. John Ballard, chief executive officer of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. “I am proud of the work of our colleagues who are equipped to provide extensive evaluation and care for stroke patients.”
Frankfort Regional underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review on November 21, 2023. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards, including program management, clinical care delivery and performance improvement initiatives. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with health care providers, measurement experts and patients. The reviewers also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
“Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification recognizes health care organizations committed to fostering continuous quality improvement in patient safety and quality of care,” said Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, executive vice president of Accreditation and Certification Operations and chief nursing officer, The Joint Commission. “We commend Frankfort Regional Medical Center for using The Joint Commission certification process to reduce variation in clinical processes and to strengthen its clinical program to drive safer, higher quality and more compassionate care for individuals served.”
