Frankfort Regional Medical Center proudly announces the appointment of John Ballard, PhD, FACHE, as its new chief executive officer. Dr. Ballard brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence in healthcare leadership to his new role.

A native of Natchez, Mississippi, Dr. Ballard joins Frankfort Regional with an impressive background in healthcare administration. Most recently, he served as chief executive officer at Forrest City Medical Center in Arkansas, where he oversaw operations at a 118-bed full-service acute care facility. Prior to his tenure at Forrest City Medical Center, Dr. Ballard held CEO positions at Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Kentucky, and Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, Kentucky.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ballard has demonstrated a steadfast dedication to enhancing patient care, improving quality, and fostering positive relationships with physicians and staff. His leadership roles with CHS/QHC have allowed him to focus on initiatives such as quality and patient satisfaction, service line development, and community engagement.

Dr. Ballard earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, followed by an MBA in finance from Alcorn State University in Natchez, Mississippi. Dr. Ballard furthered his education by obtaining a doctorate of philosophy in epidemiology from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Ballard is an active member of his community. He is deeply involved with various organizations, including Rotary, and enjoys participating in outdoor activities, particularly wild turkey hunting. He is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
