The Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) held its yearly Awards Luncheon on May 19, as part of the 88th Annual KHA Convention in Lexington. During the event, six hospitals from across the state were recognized with KHA Quality Awards. This award is presented to honor hospital leadership and innovation in quality, safety and commitment in patient care. Frankfort Regional Medical Center was recognized for using an innovative approach in managing COPD patients across the continuum of care.

“This award demonstrates Frankfort Regional Medical Center’s dedication to patient safety,” said Michelle England, Chief Nursing Officer. “We strive to provide the highest quality in patient care. We are proud of all of our staff working together to make a difference in the communities we serve.”

The goals of the KHA Quality Award are to:

  • Raise awareness of the need for an organization-wide commitment to highly reliable, exceptional quality, patient-centered care
  • Reward successful efforts to develop and promote improvements in quality of care
  • Inspire organizations to systematically integrate and align their quality improvement efforts throughout the organization
  • Communicate successful programs and strategies to the hospital field
  • Facilitate Kentucky hospitals’ alignment of quality initiatives with national initiatives
