Frankfort, Ky. — Frankfort Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, joined Network for Hope and community members on Thursday evening for a flag-raising ceremony in recognition of Donate Life Month, honoring organ, tissue and eye donors and the families whose generosity has helped save and improve lives.
Held during the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours event, the ceremony began with a testimonial from a kidney recipient who is now an advocate for bringing awareness to the importance of organ donation. The flag-raising brought special meaning to the evening as attendees paused to recognize the lasting impact of donation and the importance of raising awareness across the community.
Donate Life Month is observed each April to encourage people to learn more about organ, tissue and eye donation and to celebrate the transformed lives through the gift of donation.
“We are proud to join Network for Hope to recognize Donate Life Month,” said John Ballard, chief executive officer of Frankfort Regional. “This ceremony is a meaningful reminder of the hope donation brings to patients, families and communities.”
“Business After Hours is designed to bring our business community together in a relaxed setting where meaningful connections can happen,” said Tish Shade, President & CEO of the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce. “We appreciate Frankfort Regional Medical Center for opening its doors and helping strengthen partnerships that benefit the entire Frankfort community."
