Frankfort, Ky., — Frankfort Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, was recognized by the Kentucky House of Representatives with a Citation of Appreciation during the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
"This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the dedication of our team and the trust our patients place in us. Together, we create a welcoming, supportive community that helps people regain their health and confidence,” said Amanda Truitt, administrative director of cardiovascular services, imaging, respiratory and sleep services at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
The citation, presented by Rep. Erika Hancock, honors the hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation program for its commitment to improving cardiovascular health and supporting patients throughout their recovery.
"Every patient who comes through our program has a unique journey, and it's a privilege to be part of their recovery," said Marty Mireles, clinical coordinator of Cardiac Rehab at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Frankfort Regional's cardiac rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The citation commends the program as one of the highest caliber and recognizes its positive impact on the lives of Kentuckians since its inception.

Cardiac rehabilitation is designed to help patients recovering from heart conditions or procedures safely regain strength, improve heart health and reduce the risk of future heart problems. Through supervised exercise, education and support, the program helps patients improve their overall health and quality of life.
The cardiac rehabilitation program serves patients who have experienced or undergone:
- Heart attack
- Stable angina (chest pain)
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
- Heart valve repair or replacement
- Angioplasty, atherectomy, rotational atherectomy (rotablation) or stent placement
- Heart transplant
- Congestive heart failure with an ejection fraction of less than 35%
