Frankfort Regional Medical Center (FRMC) exemplified continuous quality improvement in stroke care and was awarded the “Top Performer” Award from The Norton Healthcare/University of Kentucky HealthCare - Stroke Care Network for fiscal year 2022.
The Top Performer Award is earned by exemplary continuous quality improvement, which is the cornerstone of a disease-specific program. FRMC has consistently shown excellence in quality and outcome measures for stroke, significantly increasing their door-to-needle time in 2021.
Dr. Larry Goldstein, interim director of the Stroke Care Network, congratulated FRMC for its dedication to excellence in stroke care.
“Frankfort Regional Medical Center’s commitment to providing the highest quality stroke care and to strengthening our regional stroke system of care is to be commended,” Dr. Goldstein said. "Everyone's goal is to provide the best care for stroke patients as close to home as possible, and Frankfort Regional Medical Center’s efforts embody that principle."
“We are honored to be recognized with the Top Performer Award,” said Reed Hammond, FRMC chief executive officer. “This recognition is a testament to our entire healthcare team’s efforts and dedication to continual improvement for stroke care, resulting in better outcomes for our patients.”
Lisa Bellamy, BHS, RN, CPHQ, the Stroke Care Network's managing director, noted, “Frankfort Regional Medical Center continues to improve upon our already good quality measures in stroke care. Their success is a direct reflection of their hard work and dedication.”
As one of the 37 affiliate hospitals in the Stroke Care Network, FRMC has access to networking with other stroke care centers in the tri-state area, an abundance of educational offerings and resources, and support from higher level stroke certified organizations. Frankfort Regional Medical Center’s affiliation and participation within the Stroke Care Network contributes to the Network’s overall mission of strengthening the stroke system of care throughout our region.
