Chief Operating Officer

John Cain joined Frankfort Regional Medical Center as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in February 2025. With a deep passion for healthcare excellence, John is dedicated to advancing the mission of Frankfort Regional Medical Center and enhancing the quality of care for patients across the region.

Prior to joining Frankfort Regional Medical Center, John was the Associate CEO at Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele, Utah. During his tenure, he successfully recruited 18 physicians and providers across various specialties, including primary care, OB/GYN, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and urology. Under his leadership, the hospital achieved 4-star ratings from HCAHPS and CMS and earned recognition as a Top Performer in the Vizient Clinical Quality Database, ranking #5 nationwide. With a strong focus on growing key service lines, provider recruitment, and enhancing patient experience, John plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, managing construction projects, and overseeing ancillary services.

John also serves as an Adjunct Professor at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where he teaches graduate-level courses in the Master of Healthcare Administration program. His previous experience includes roles as an Administrative Specialist and Assistant CEO at MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, Illinois.

John holds a Master of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and a bachelor’s degree from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, where he was a member of the varsity baseball team.

In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading, hiking, watching sports, and playing golf, football, baseball, and pickup basketball.
