Frankfort, KY (October 31, 2008) - Frankfort Regional Medical Center proudly announces the opening of its new Lawrenceburg Medical Specialty Center on November 10, 2008. The newly renovated facility, located at 512 Saffell Street across from Anderson County Middle School, will initially open with the practice of Gary Witucki, D.O. of Commonwealth Family Care. Future plans include relocating x-ray, mammography, and laboratory services from the current Lawrenceburg Specialty Clinic next door to the larger 5,795 square foot facility sometime in early 2009.

"We are excited to be opening the Lawrenceburg Medical Specialty Center to better serve the residents of Anderson County through access to high quality medical care," said Chip Peal, Chief Executive Officer of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. "Once everything has been moved to the new location, the access and convenience to so many health services will be a true benefit to the quality of life for the area."

Initially, Commonwealth Family Care - through the practice of Dr. Witucki - will be established at the Medical Specialty Center Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm The new facility is also prepared to provide space for specialists to set up full-time or satellite clinics. Currently, Andrew Bustin, M.D. from Bluegrass Cardiology in Frankfort, travels to Lawrenceburg to see patients every Friday from 8:00am until noon in the existing clinic. His clinic will transition to the new Medical Specialty Center along with the diagnostic services in 2009.

Dr. Witucki received his medical degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He completed his internship and residency in family practice at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Witucki is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice and a member of the American Osteopathic Association. He most recently comes to Central Kentucky from Nashville, Tennessee, where he spent time in private practice and serving at a wound and hyperbaric center. Dr. Witucki has over 13 years of experience and has special interests in treating wounds. He will also see patients in the Wound Care Center in Frankfort.
