James Armstrong, MD joins medical staff

Frankfort Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce James Armstrong, MD, board-certified general surgeon, has joined its medical and the practice of Capital Surgical at One Physician’s Park in Frankfort.

“We are excited to add another skilled general surgeon to our medical staff,” said John Ballard, PhD, FACHE, chief executive officer. “The addition of Dr. Armstrong allows us to continue to grow the robotics program available to the residents in the Frankfort and surrounding areas.”

Dr. Armstrong received his Bachelor of Science degree from Morehead State University followed by his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Louisville. Dr. Armstrong is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

‌Dr. Armstrong provides broad based general surgical care including open, laparoscopic and robotic operations, and has performed over 200 robotic-assisted operations. He specializes in robotic/minimally invasive repair of abdominal, groin and hiatal hernias. Dr. Armstrong also performs upper/lower endoscopies, thyroid/parathyroid surgery, breast surgery and malignant bowel surgery.
