WE'RE HERE TO HELP
The effects of cancer and the treatment of cancer can result in physical limitations. The Rehab Center at Frankfort Regional Medical Center provides sensitive, high-quality care to address these problems. Our physical therapists are experts in helping patients regain mobility, balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance.
WHAT CONDITIONS CAN BE TREATED?
Treatment for breast cancer can result in multiple problems that limit a patient's ability to return to daily activities. They may include difficulty raising one or both arms to dress or style hair, difficulty sleeping, pain, fatigue, and swelling in the chest, arm, or hand. Our physical therapists provide comprehensive treatments for all impairments, during each stage of treatment and beyond.
WHAT TO EXPECT
At Frankfort Regional's Rehab Center, each patient is evaluated by an experienced therapist. The results are used in developing a personalized, flexible treatment program based on current evidence-based practices to help the patient return to her prior level of activity.
In addition to physical therapy, we provide specially trained, certified lymphedema therapists. These therapists work with patients who develop edema (swelling) as a result of surgical or radiation treatment. The treatment combines manual lymph drainage, compression wraps, skin care, and education.
IS TREATMENT COVERED BY INSURANCE?
Any treatment would correspond with physical therapy benefits with insurance.
