Frankfort, KY (May 23, 2011) - Frankfort Regional Medical Center was recently awarded Kentucky Hospital Association's (KHA) Quality Award at the KHA Annual Conference in Louisville. Recognized in the 100-to-250-bed size category, Frankfort Regional received the award for excellence in innovation in quality, safety and commitment in patient care. All acute hospitals, psychiatric hospitals and programs and post-acute hospitals and programs in Kentucky were eligible for the award.

"This award belongs to each and every staff member at Frankfort Regional," says Chip Peal, Chief Executive Officer. "Maintaining our high level of quality care requires a tremendous commitment from each of our employees. This award is proof of our dedication to those who matter most-our patients."

The goals of KHA's Quality Award are to:

  • Raise awareness of the need for an organization-wide commitment to highly reliable, exceptional quality, patient-centered care
  • Reward successful efforts to develop and promote improvements in quality of care
  • Inspire organizations to systematically integrate and align their quality improvement efforts throughout the organization
  • Communicate successful programs and strategies to the hospital field
  • Facilitate Kentucky hospitals' alignment of quality initiatives with national initiatives

The hospital was also awarded KHA's Quality Award in 2009.
