Frank Manns, Jaime Montalvo, MD, and Priscilla Gershman were recently awarded Frankfort Regional Medical Center’s 2011 Frist Humanitarian Award as Employee, Physician, and Volunteer of the Year, respectively. This honor places Mr. Manns, Dr. Montalvo and Ms. Gershman in nomination for the nationwide Frist Humanitarian Award, the highest honor an employee or volunteer can receive within Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), the parent company of Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

The Frist Humanitarian Awards were created to recognize one employee, one physician and one volunteer at each HCA-affiliated facility who demonstrate extraordinary concern for the welfare and happiness of patients and their community. The Frist Humanitarian Awards are given annually in recognition of the humanitarian spirit and philanthropic work of the late Dr. Thomas

F. Frist, Sr., a founder of HCA. National recipients will be honored in the spring at a reception at the company's Nashville, Tennessee, headquarters. Last year, Frankfort Regional’s Director of Engineering - Arnie LeMay, was the national employee recipient of the Frist Humanitarian Award.

Frank Manns has worked at Frankfort Regional Medical Center for over 31 years. Currently, he serves as Project Coordinator in the engineering department, where he consistently goes out of his way to serve the hospital’s patients and visitors.

Dr. Montalvo currently works in Frankfort Regional’s emergency department, where he has for the past 13 years. He takes several mission trips each year giving of his time and resources while improving the lives of others.

Priscilla Gershman has volunteered at the hospital since August 2008. She assists in the main lobby next to the registration and information desk, assisting patients and visitors. Ms. Gershman can always be found with a smile on her face and a willingness to help patients and families. In addition to her volunteer work at the hospital, Ms. Gershman also helps with the Kentucky legislative session, Senior Citizens Center and the YMCA.
