Frankfort, KY (April 11, 2011) - According to the National Cancer Institute, prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer among men in this country. Only skin cancer is more common. One in six men will develop prostate cancer during their lifetime. Early detection through screening increases the chance of survival.

On Saturday, April 16 from 8 - 11am Frankfort Regional Medical Center will be providing free screenings for men 40 and older. The screening will consist of a prostate exam and PSA, or prostate-specific antigen, blood test. There is no charge for the screening, but reservations are required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
